[ Trees & Birds villa ]

HAKUBA forest, the magnificent and beauty are inherent in rich topography and various tree species.
“Trees & Birds villa” is the place for taking pleasure of living above the forest as wild birds of HAKUBA.

The concept of “Trees & Birds villa” is the proposal of new nature
and a human being coexistence which can maximize the charm of nature itself.
Various widths – heights - materials wooden boxes form the melted external appearance into the woods by their collectivity.
Also, internal spaces of each boxes create relationships with the great forestland by framing the scape,
finish materials, openness and difference of the room heights.
The inhabitants travel around the diverse space as wild birds and stay in the suitable place for seasons and lifestyles of their own.

Daisuke SUGAWARA is Principal architect at SUGAWARADAISUKE Architects after international experiences in Paris and Japan including National Museum and Louis Vuitton projects. His works is awarded more than 30 Prizes in the world and internationally valued as a Young Japanese Architect in the next Generation.

The design philosophy is “Narrative Landscape” to create new relationship between nature and human beings for future.
